The Midsomer Norton Cultural Consortium is seeking Expressions of Interest from local artists to design and paint one of three upcycled outdoor benches which will form part of a new trail around the Town Centre.
Artists have the opportunity to apply for up to £1,000 to design a unique, colourful bench which explores aspects of local culture, history, people and places.
The benches, formerly installed on Midsomer Norton High Street, are being stripped and prepared by Midsomer Norton’s Men Shed. They are set to be installed at a series of locations in and around the Town Centre, encouraging local people to pause and enjoy time together in the outdoors.
Applications are welcomed from local artists – individuals, studios, or collaborations. Selected artists must be located within 15 miles of Midsomer Norton, and young artists, disabled and neurodivergent artists, LGBTQ+ artists and artists of colour are particularly encouraged to apply.
